Fresh off a draw last weekend, Real Salt Lake faces Seattle Sounders hoping to achieve some of the same highs they did then while achieving actual success this time.
In recent years, RSL has rather notably struggled against the Sounders, and that's prompted a degree of contention between the two sides. Additionally, the departure of former GM Garth Lagerwey to shores more emerald hasn't improved those relations.
This match is particularly interesting, because there are rumblings that optimism in Seattle isn't well-placed. The club sold key forward Obafemi Martins and have yet to replace him, and they may not until the summer.
Finally, be on the lookout for the man Seattle fans are calling the "Austrian Beckham," Andreas Ivanschitz. Considering Beckham's penchant for bad tackles and dirty play when he came up against RSL, such an assertion may only play up the rivalry.
