RSL's top 10 goals scored against Portland Timbers

MLS: U.S. Open Cup-Portland Timbers at Real Salt Lake Chris Nicoll-USA TODAY Sports

Over the years, Real Salt Lake has scored a lot of goals against Portland. The Timbers been in MLS since 2011, and in that time, Real Salt Lake has scored 27 goals against them. That's pretty remarkable.

With RSL facing Portland on Saturday, we're taking a walk through RSL's top goals against Portland. It's a pretty extensive list.

10. September 22, 2012: Morales — 2-0

This is the game-winning goal that sealed Real Salt Lake's 2012 playoff berth. It's also a beautiful free kick. It's so good.

9. July 7, 2012: Saborio hat trick — 3-0

We just couldn't separate these goals. They're each good, but together, they're great. This was one of Saborio's great hat tricks during his time at Real Salt Lake, and we're remembering him that way.

8. April 19, 2014: Grabavoy — 1-0

Remember Ned Grabavoy, former RSL player that's turned toward Portland? Yeah, we miss him, too. Here's one reason why. This is a sumptuous game-winning goal.

7. November 10, 2013: Schuler — 1-1

Here, we have Chris Schuler with a brilliant headed goal. Importantly, this is the one that equalizes things for RSL.

6. November 24, 2013: Findley — 1-0

Robbie Findley has a knack for scoring in the playoffs for Real Salt Lake, and this goal seems almost a direct product of that. This made RSL's aggregate lead more or less insurmountable, and while it didn't seal an MLS Cup berth on its own, there's something about this goal that makes it magical.

6. March 31, 2012: Steele — 2-2

This was the equalizing goal in one of RSL's best-ever comebacks. Jonny Steele wrote his way into RSL's history books with this goal, and his close control in scoring this is remarkable. This one was great, but there's an even better goal from this game.

5. August 30, 2013: Plata — 2-0

It's not the finish that makes this a great goal, but it certainly didn't hurt. Joao Plata finished off a great team effort, and there's something mouthwatering about the build-up. I miss 2013.

4. August 21, 2013: Cole Grossman — 3-3

Nothing beats stoppage-time winners in terms of excitement. This one is right up there: Cole Grossman scores his first RSL goal, and it's a late equalizer. It's hardly the prettiest of goals you'll see, but the conditions and intensity make this one irrevocably great.

3. November 10, 2013: Morales — 4-1

This one's fun not for the quality of goal on its own, but because it's Javier Morales essentially sending Real Salt Lake to the 2013 MLS Cup. With a second leg looming, the 4-2 lead RSL ran out of the match with sealed this one. It's also fun because, really, how often do you get to see Morales with a headed goal? Play it again.

2. March 31, 2012: Beckerman — 3-2

Real Salt Lake was down 2-1 in the 88th minute. In the 89th, they equalized. In the 93rd, Kyle Beckerman did this, and it should never be forgotten. This was perfection.

1. August 30, 2013: Morales — 3-1

This is the 2013 Javier Morales bicycle kick you simply have to see to believe. That first touch to bring the ball in his control, the bicycle kick to seal a win — yeah, this one's our number one. No question about it.
