Real Salt Lake looked strong from the opening whistle and put their best XI on the field. They picked up where they left of against Tigres and went toe to toe with Orlando and looked better than them for much of the game. There was a scare around the 9th minute when Larin seemed to score but luckily for RSL he was ruled offsides. The chances started coming for RSL and Yura Movsisyan drew a clear penalty. We wondered who would take it after Morales' last PK was saved. Joao Plata stepped up and made it. All of this after each side saw a red card, RSL's shown to Demar Phillips. First half ended 1-0.
The second 45 were much of the same with RSL controlling. Burrito created something out of nothing, found Tony Beltran, and Beltran found Plata who earned a brace. RSL was under the gun for much of the rest of the game and all seemed well until everything came crashing down in stoppage time and Orlando found the net twice to tie things up much to Salt Lake's dismay. Fingers will be pointed, but whoever was to blame will be a topic of conversation for the next while as RSL left with a point, 2-2.
