Houston Dynamo vs. Real Salt Lake delayed until noon Sunday

MLS: U.S. Open Cup-Colorado Rapids at Houston Dynamo Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

Real Salt Lake's match tonight against Houston Dynamo has been postponed until Sunday at 1 p.m., with weather in Houston, Texas — including potential heavy rain and lightning — as the reason.

Fans at the stadium weren't being allowed into their seats, with lightning cited as the reason.

A tweet from RSL play-by-play commentator David James indicated that there is an effort to play the match, but that there was doubt because of the weather.

And Jordan Allen, in a bit of fun Twitter snark, responded to Justen Glad's tweet about it being "game day."

RSL color commentator and all-around legend Brian Dunseth indicated that the game may not go forward, too.

Of course, 30 minutes ago, Houston Dynamo said the match was still set for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff, but with neither team releasing a lineup to this point, that is not just unlikely — it's basically near-certain to not be the case.
