Real Salt Lake squares off against Sporting Kansas City tonight (again, you ask? Yes — this is MLS, after all), and while much of our discussion has focused on the two teams outside of any rivalry, we can't go too far without mentioning something.
These are two teams that have been embroiled in on-field rivalry. Since 2011, during that fateful preseason match that Jason Kreis ended early, there's been no love lost between these two teams. It will certainly continue tonight.

Lineup news
It's probably too soon for Demar Phillips to return to action, given his groin strain was sustained only two weeks ago. There's no saying whether Aaron Maund has sufficiently recovered from injury; at best, he'd be on the bench, I suspect. (I hope I'm wrong.)
Expect Nick Rimando back in goal after Jeff Attinella was given a scheduled start last week, and Sunny could be back in contention for a start after continuing to struggle with minor injuries.
Other than that, it seems like any lineup changes would be tactical, which could make for an interesting match.
