Player ratings: Columbus 4-3 RSL

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 6.5 Nick was pretty fantastic in Columbus and kept things from really getting out of control. Four goals for past him, but none were fully his fault.

Demar Phillips - 6 Demar, for as fast as he is, was getting beat on his side of the field. Some of that is due to the center backs leaving him out to dry, but either way he was losing some important battles. On the flip side, he was part of the comeback and set up Allen perfectly for the goal.

Justen Glad - 3.5 This is what happens when you start a young player for multiple games. He is bound to make mistakes at some point, and he made a handful against the Crew. He will surely learn from this and get better.

Aaron Maund - 4 Maund, like Glad, was on te wrong side of the striker all to often and paid for it a few times. For as consistent as Maund has been over the pat year, this is surely an outlier.

Tony Beltran - 4.5 Tony was visibly frustrated from the back line's lack of cohesiveness. There was plenty getting past him which we aren't used to.

Sunny Obayan - 3.5 Sunny gifted a goal to the Crew with an eyebrow raising giveaway on the middle of the field. Sunny lacked the bite he normally has all night long.

John Stertzer - 4.5 Stertzer was not very involved in the attack and a few too many things got past him in the middle, namely, Justin Meram.

Luke Mulholland - 7.5 Mulholland had the type of goal that makes you get out of your chair. He put it in the top right corner just out of the keeper's reach. It's pretty incredible that he has not played consistent minutes but when he plays he still manages to be very productive. Against Columbus, a goal and an assist.

Jordan Allen - 7 Allen's header was a thing of beauty. He rose up and headed it in in textbook style. He never gave up on the night and had a pretty good showing.

Devon Sandoval - 5.5 Sandoval did what Sandoval does, but he was not all that threatening in front of the goal. He was scrappy, but not that effective.

Joao Plata - 7 Plata had a goal and an assist, but did not convert his penalty kick. Strange night. He looks hungry a gain and is producing stats in most games which is nice.

Substitutes

Juan Manuel Martinez - 5.5 Burrito kept the Crew defenders occupied and indirectly helped RSL mount a comeback with some good ball control.

Javier Morales - 5.5 Morales, like Burrito, was good on the ball and helped turn the tide for RSL.
