Player ratings: RSL 2-2 Portland

MLS: Portland Timbers at Real Salt Lake Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 5 That was not the best of Rimando. He let two goals in that I thought he could have done more with, and on the first one he got ‘megged.

Tony Beltran - 6 Tony was one of the better players on the night, especially when the going got tough. As he has for the past couple years, he showed leadership on the field.

Justen Glad - 5 Glad had a tough task to keep Fandendo Adi off the score sheet. He got out-muscled a couple times, but did a decent job of not backing down to a very experienced, quality striker.

Aaron Maund - 5.5 Maund was there to help out when needed, but did not distribute out of the back very well.

Chris Wingert - 6 If Wingert’s passes into the box were a bit sharper, RSL may very well have had another goal. His positioning was pretty good, especially when he knew that the attacker was potent.

Luke Mulholland - 5.5 One of Mulholland’s weak spots on the night was his tracking of runners. Maybe there is something we don’t understand about the game plan or tactics, but there were too many dangerous runs that went un-marked.

Javier Morales - 6.5 Morales grabbed an assist on the fantastic corner to find Burrito at the far post. He was pretty good overall on the night about finding the right man to create a chance.

Sunny Obayan - 5.5 Sunny did not look like the Sunny we were seeing early in the season. He has had a few games now in which he gives the ball away cheaply making RSL pay. Let’s assume that his nagging ankle is hindering his quality.

Juan Manuel Martinez - 7 Burrito is on a hot streak. He is scoring goals on a regular basis now and alleviates pressure over and over again. Nicely placed header.

Joao Plata - 6.5 Plata was very good from the beginning and put the Timbers on their heels. It was unfortunate that he didn’t get on the scoreboard.

Yura Movsisyan - 7.5 Movsisyan brings the intangibles. He was the driving force that led to RSL not losing all three points and nearly completed the full turnaround. Were it not for a great save from Jake Gleeson, he very well would have.

Substitutes

Jordan Allen - 6 Allen was so, so close to putting RSL ahead toward the end of the game, but was simply unable to get the ball past the keeper. All in all, nice showing off the bench.
