Player ratings: RSL 1 (1) - 1 (4) Sounders

MLS: U.S. Open Cup-Seattle Sounders FC at Real Salt Lake Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Jeff Attinella - 5 Attinella had a couple of timely saves, but also had a miscommunication with Justen Glad that basically gifted the Sounders the tying goal. Attinella was unable to come up with a PK save to keep them alive. All in all, not great, not horrible.

Tony Beltran - 6.5 Tony came so close to scoring his second goal ever, but was left wanting. His defense was very good, his passing was pretty decent. He definitely got forward a lot.

Justen Glad - 5 It’s hard to give Glad a fair score when he had a great showing except for the miscue with Attinella. It was a costly, untimely miscue to say the least because it let Seattle back in the game and ultimately allowed them to win.

Aaron Maund - 5.5 Maund was solid defensively, but had at least three chances off of set pieces to score with his head but did not convert.

Demar Phillips - 6 Phillips was feisty on the night which was needed at times. He was aggressive and showed well for himself.

Luke Mulholland - 6 Luke played well but looked fatigued after a while. He has put in a lot of minutes lately to be sure. His offensive play looked better against the Sounders than it has over the past few games.

Javier Morales - 6.5 Morales’ night could be summed up by saying he created a lot but was unable to convert. The must gut-wrenching example was his shot that he got off towards the end of extra time that ended up sailing across the face of the goal after he beat two defenders and the keeper.

Kyle Beckerman - 7 Beckerman said he was going to bring some sharpness back with him from his stint with the U.S. Men’s Team, and that he did. He looked very good with clean play and fierce tackling.

Juan Manuel Martinez - 6.5 Burrito looked as creative as ever with some impressive passing and dribbling. He, like all the rest, was unable to convert all of that positive play into a goal however.

Joao Plata - 6.5 Plata was energetic and converted the penalty to put RSL up originally, but had his penalty saved when it got down to crunch time.

Yura Movsisyan - 6 Movsisyan looked as determined as ever and drew a penalty to put RSL up. He had several chances that he could have probably done better with, but Tyler Miller came up huge as well.

Substitutes

Jordan Allen - 7 Allen came on and had the kind of footwork we are used to seeing from Burrito. He had a chance to convert the go-ahead goal but put it in the keeper’s hands instead.

Chris Wingert - N/A
