After more than a week of speculation since rumors started floating around that Real Salt Lake was to host Italian club Inter Milan in a friendly at Rio Tinto Stadium, the plans for that match have been made official in an RSL-issued press release.

The match will take place on Tuesday, July 19 at 8 p.m., and season-ticket holders will have priority access to tickets.

The Utah Sports Commission is involved in the organization of the match, although it's not initially clear to what extent that is the case.

Ticket prices range from $25 in the south-end supporters section to $450 for premier seats. Tickets seem rather non-exorbitant for a summer friendly, which is something the club should be applauded for — especially in light of Copa America matches across the country seeing dismally empty stadiums.

In a press release, Andy Carroll, chief business officer, said that the friendly is in-line with the intention to host European clubs on summer tours.

The arrival of such a storied club as Inter Milan coming here to face Real Salt Lake is a testament to the vision our owner, Dell Loy Hansen, is developing for the sport in our community. As the Herriman Complex evolves, we expect the Salt Lake Valley to serve as the home base for numerous world powers during their summer tours of North America; Inter Milan's visit to Sandy this July is the first step in that process.

This is the first European club Real Salt Lake has hosted since 2007, when English side Everton played at Rice Eccles Stadium.
