Juan Manuel Martinez is a special player. There is no disputing this, and I don’t think anybody’s really tried.
But just in case you’re still on the fence, this goal against D.C. United is the sort of thing that should offer you additional confirmation.
First, though, a little context: Bill Hamid had been unbeatable until the 57th minute. He saved excellent shots from Yura Movsisyan, Luke Mulholland and Joao Plata. He’s even done it since (yes, this is real-time writing — there’s no pretending otherwise.)
Hamid's only human and DAMN that was a super cheeky chip by El Burrito!! #RSL #DCU #RSLvDC pic.twitter.com/rMQOuJapK7

Just watch this goal, though. Watch him shimmy and shake his way past defenders with ease. Watch him dribble. Watch him chip the previously unbeatable Hamid. (This is where I say something about “ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED,” but because I’d like to maintain some sort of dignity, I won’t.)
Let’s get back to the match. Maybe we just might see a bit more magic. Or maybe ... we already have.
