Nick Rimando - 6 Nick notched a couple of difficult, quick reaction saves. He did this at a critical time in the game when the RSL defense was bending.
Tony Beltran - 6 Tony made a smart tactical foul a time or two to keep San Jose from having too many clean looks at the goal.
Justen Glad - 6.5 Glad looked like a force for much of the night. Not much was getting past him, and just when we thought San Jose would have a clean shot on goal Glad would come out of nowhere to deflect it.
Aaron Maund - 6.5 Maund was good with his head in aerial situations and was making his presence felt when San Jose was attacking.
Chris Wingert - 5 Wingert had some ups and downs in this game. It looked like Wondolowski was his mark on the early goal, so there’s that. But he also had some nice hustle plays and showed some good technical ability.
Luke Mulholland - 7 What a finish from Mulholland on that goal. Not everyone can volley a goal like that. Luke was all over the place working his heart out and was rewarded with the goal.
Javier Morales - 6.5 Morales found a way to get the ball to an attacker when San Jose was pretty much parking their defense in front of the goal. He could have done a bit better with his scoring chance, but overall had a nice game.
Kyle Beckerman - 6.5 The tenacity that Beckerman played with was fun to watch. He did as he usually does to make timely stops and break up attacking plays before they become dangerous.
Juan Manuel Martinez - 5 San Jose dispossessed Burrito at an unusually frequent rate. He was unable to beat their defenders like is typically able. His passes were a bit errant on the night, but he did have some pretty good ideas now and again.
Joao Plata - 4 Plata looked off on the night overall. His corners were simply not good enough and his passing generally was not what you expect to see from him. Not to mention his choice of shots were ill-timed. I’m not sure what happened to Plata’s mojo since his injury, but he needs to rediscover it.
Yura Movsisyan - 6 Movsisyan’s effort and aggressive runs caught up with him as he suffered a hip flexor strain on the night. He was doing everything he could to create chances.
Substitutes
Olmes Garcia - 6 Garcia is trending upward, but until he scores a goal he is not fully serving his purpose as a forward. He is looking more confident on the field which is a good sign.
Demar Phillips - 5 Phillips didn’t have a huge effect on the game, but he did bring a bit of speed and creative energy towards the end of the match.
Jordan Allen - N/A
