RSL go down twice, come back to tie 3-3

MLS: LA Galaxy at Real Salt Lake Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

RSL had the exact kind of start that they did not want to have. Even though they came out applying pressure, having numbers forward hurt them when about six minutes in Boateng got goal side of Olave and beat Rimando to put the Galaxy up. Real had trouble creating chances for most of the rest of the half after the Galaxy decided to sit back. Wingert had a header that just went wide around the 41st minute but RSL headed to the half needing to regroup.

A hustle play from Joao Plata about ten minutes into the second half earned RSL a penalty chance with the keeper taking him down when fighting for possession of a loose ball. Plays stepped up and converted to wake up the crowd and open up the field. Unfortunately for the home team, Gio Dos Santos got goal side of Olave and converted to put L.A. up again. A chaotic play in the 64th led to another Dos Santos goal when RSL was not right enough in the box to clear the ball. L.A. found themselves up 3-1. A few minutes later Movsisyan and Beltran found Plata who blasted it to the top right corner to pull one back for Salt Lake. RSL had some looks down the stretch and just when the fans started to trickle out of the stadium Burrito scored a far post goal to send the crowd into a riot. The game ended 3-3.
