Real Salt Lake’s move for Landon Donovan may be dead, if we’re interpreting this tweet from the all-knowing Brian Dunseth correctly.

Yeah, yeah. It’s a hashtag and an emoji. That’s not exactly a report, but it coincides with reports yesterday that the deal was on shaky ground. It also sort of matches with Dunny’s preferred mode of talking about things he knows in just-vague-enough terms — which, let’s face it, is probably a lot of fun for him.
We’ve sought confirmation from Real Salt Lake on the matter, but it’s been radio silence on that side.
If the club doesn’t land Donovan, they have the luxury of it not being an essential move. You can make a strong argument for him adding something in Salt Lake, but you can also make a strong argument for why he may not be necessary or useful.
We’ll see what happens with this one, of course, but for now? It might just be dead.
