Real Salt Lake’s purported interest in RSL-AZ grad and Liverpool striker Brooks Lennon — yet to be confirmed by the club officially — was given a boost by an ESPNFC reporter today.
But the odds that Lennon will join might have taken a hit if we’re to believe everything Glenn Price is saying here.
Real Salt Lake have offered #LFC a deal for Lennon but it was not close to their valuation.

This does give us an idea that Real Salt Lake actually made an offer for Lennon’s transfer, not a loan deal — but it doesn’t really offer any sourcing on that matter. This isn’t totally uncommon for the English media, as rumors about transfers and loans just sort of flit around without detail in even the biggest news outlets.
What does this mean for a deal for Lennon? Well, it offers confirmation that RSL is at least interested, which we assumed was true after being reported by Chris Kamrani earlier this week. It doesn’t mean anything’s over, as negotiations are usually not quick processes.
We’ll keep following this one, as Lennon would be a real get for Real Salt Lake. He was extremely well thought of out of the academy, and the club holds his homegrown rights in MLS should he sign with the league. There are legs to this rumor, but for now, we might just have to sit on our hands until we learn more.
