Jamison Olave to join Monarchs, Academy coaching staffs

The long-time player will move into coaching roles with both Real Monarchs and the Academy, while also working in community outreach for the club.

Jamison Olave will be joining the coaching staff for for Monarchs as the defensive coach under Mike Petke, RSL Communications confirmed today.

While this seems to be his main role, he will also be picking up some coaching responsibilities with Real Salt Lake’s new academy in Herriman, as well as doing commentary for Spanish match broadcasts on TV and radio.

The team hopes to have the deal finalized sometime in the next week.

In 2016, Olave took up a different role in the team, as youngsters Aaron Maund and Justen Glad established themselves as the go-to center backs in the squad. This next step in his career not only keeps him with the club but adds a valuable asset to the Monarchs and RSL Academy.
