No, Kyle Beckerman hasn’t left Real Salt Lake — hopefully he returns in 2018 and we don’t have to cry more — but a big part of him apparently did.
Salt Lake Tribune reporter Maddie Lee broke the news today. Kyle Beckerman cut his hair.
In honor of Beckerman’s hair, here are 10 great memories of it.
10. 2006: Kyle Beckerman grows the dreadlocks

I looked through a lot of photos of Kyle Beckerman after he obtained his dreadlocks. This is one of my favorites — for obvious reasons. He’s in the wrong colors, but it’s only a year before he joined us. This could have been top billing if he’d grown them while he was here, though.
9. Beckerman wears a nice suit (after RSL’s 2011 CONCACAF Final loss)

This is a sad moment, but doesn’t Beckerman look good here? He should really have played in the second leg of the 2011 CONCACAF final against Monterrey, but fate has a cruel way of things.
8. 2013: Beckerman is MLS Cup runner-up

Remember this? I do, and I don’t know if I want to. Anyway, Beckerman’s hair and beard are great here. Sigh.
7. This great photo from Brazil

Ah, the magic of the World Cup. More on this later, but isn’t this a great photo?
6. Beckerman at the U-17 World cup

I know, I know. This is Beckerman pre-dreadlocks. But look! He’s so young. This is from the U-17 World Cup.
5. Beckerman joins Real Salt Lake

It’s always weird for me to see Kyle without his face hair. All the same, I’m glad he joined us.
4. Beckerman goes to the ESPYs

No comment needed. The greatness just oozes out of Beckerman.
3. 2013: Beckerman wins the Western Conference final against Portland

This is Beckerman at his best from a beard perspective, and his hair is, as usual, fantastic. Why, just look at that. He’s great. I’ll miss the hair.
2. The dreadlocks on the world stage

Remember in 2014 when Kyle Beckerman went to the World Cup, and we all went with him, because he is not only the captain of Real Salt Lake but of us as individuals? That was a great moment.

Remember this moment? This is when Real Salt Lake won the 2009 MLS Cup. It was a good moment for all of us. Let’s look at some more.

Oh, and his new hair? Here it is.
