Monarchs decline option on Daniel Haber

25-year-old Canadian promptly signs with FC Cincinnati after a single season with Real Monarchs SLC.

Daniel Haber joined Real Monarchs SLC for 2017 following a single season with the Vancouver Whitecaps II and several season abroad in Israel. Wearing #46 for the Monarchs, Haber made a total of 30 appearances and 20 starts, but saw his minutes decline toward the end of the season with the mid-season signing of Juan Ignacio Mare.

Daniel had seven goals for the Monarchs in the 2017 including the following two strong right-footed shots from distance.

Perhaps most memorably Haber was the only Monarchs to successfully place his kick past Sacramento goalie Evan Newton in the shootout loss which ended the season for the Monarchs in the first round of the the 2017 playoffs.

Daniel’s ready smile and good humor will be missed in the locker room and on the field. We wish him the best with FC Cincinnati until the Monarchs meet them in a future match.
