Hailing from Park City, Sabastian “Bofo” Saucedo is one of Real Salt Lake’s true homegrowns. In 2015, he saw almost 200 minutes, spent a year in Mexico in 2016, and returned to Utah for a much improved 2017. Not only did he feature much more for RSL, he played a huge role for the very successful U.S. U20 World Cup team.
He is clearly a much more mature player than when he was here in 2015. He often came on as a substitute around the 70th minute to give RSL a nice shot of energy when they needed it.
Bofo did notch two assists throughout the season and contributed in his ability to take players on and create space. The biggest thing missing from Saucedo’s season was a goal. He got very close a few times but could not get the ball to go in. Once he gets a goal or two to his name, I think things will really open up for him and he’ll become a nice piece for this club. Here’s hoping he takes another step forward in 2018.
