Where Are They Now: Carlos Salcedo

Three seasons after he left, what is Carlos Salcedo up to now?

Carlos Salcedo played for Real Salt Lake for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. He is a center back currently for the Mexican national team and Eintracht Frankfurt. During his time in Salt Lake, Salcedo played in 25 games getting 1870 minutes.

Following Salcedo’s time with RSL, he was transfered to C.D. Guadalajara, where he played for just one season before being loaned to ACF Fiorentina. Just another season in Fiorentina before once again being loaned to Eintracht Frankfurt where he is currently playing.

In Guadalajara, Salcedo had 55 appearances in just over a year before his trade to Fiorentina. He scored one goal for CD Guadalajara. During his time in ACF Fiorentina he made 15 appearances in one season. Following his season long stint at Fiorentina he got loaned once again to Eintracht Frankfurt where he has just 5 appearances, partially due to a joint separation that kept him out for a little over two months in the 2016–17 season. It is anticipated that he will begin to play more in the coming months but it is doubted he will become a regular starter.

Salcedo made seven appearances for the senior Mexican National Team in 2017. He has had a total of 14 appearances with the Mexican National Team since 2015, when he earned his first cap in a 3-3 draw against Chile.

It is unknown whether Salcedo will stay in Frankfurt, be loaned somewhere else or return to C.D. Guadalajara. However, his rights are still with Guadalajara, so it’s possible that he could be brought back there once his loan is up with Frankfurt. What his future holds could be bright — and hopefully successful.

In addition to his soccer career, Salcedo is now married to Andrea Navarro. They have been together since September of 2015 and got married February 2016. Salcedo and his wife welcomed a new baby boy to the world, Thiago, on December 7.
