Real Salt Lake’s second match of this three game preseason tournament is against the Vancouver Whitecaps. We’re hoping to see a more defensively disciplined RSL while we build on the attacking success seen in the last match.
This is still only a friendly; so even if there are fans and full kits, expect to see some experimentation. This is one of only a few more chances we have to try new ideas and new players before the home opener on March 4th.
Match details
- Time: 3:30 p.m. Mountain, 2:30 p.m. Pacific (local time)
- Location: Providence Park; Portland, Oregon
- Live stream: YouTube, RSL.com, embedded below
Lineup news and thoughts
- There has been no update on Kyle Beckerman, so it’s assumed he is still out with injury.
- Chris Schuler and Chris Wingert were rested in the last game, so they’re likely to get time in this match.
- In each preseason game we’ve seen a 4-2-3-1 formation; we’re likely to see this again.
- Justen Glad, Sebastian Saucedo, Brooks Lennon, and Danilo Acosta are away with the U.S. U-20 team.
- In the last two friendlies we’ve seen a Rusnak, Plata, Yura, Allen attack. Watch to see if this remains the starting attack; it seems clear that this is our regular season front four.
