For the first time in club history, Real Salt Lake and Minnesota United square off in a preseason friendly.
Of course, you can be oddly specific and find all sorts of moments of history, but really, this is the two clubs face off in an MLS context. But these two sides have sort of faced off already, and, wouldn’t you know it, Luke Mulholland’s played for both of them.
Minnesota United, after all, are loosely coupled with the old Minnesota United, previously NSC Minnesota, and also previously NSC Minnesota Stars, and also previously Minnesota Stars FC. (Take a deep breath.)

Lineup news and thoughts
- The U-20 players who are gone remain, well, gone. They’ll be back eventually — if they make the final, that won’t be before March 4. So, no Brooks Lennon, Danilo Acosta, Justen Glad, and Sebastian Saucedo.
- We haven’t really heard any other news on Kyle Beckerman, so let’s assume we probably won’t see him in this one.
- Anything else? Not really. With the last game just a few days ago, expect plenty of changes from that one.
