Sam Stejskal reported today that Real Salt Lake have come to an agreement with Liverpool for a year long loan for Brooks Lennon. This is news that RSL fans have all been waiting for since the first rumors of his arrival hit earlier this year thanks to Chris Kamrani.

Lennon, who is only 19 years old, came up in the RSL academy in Arizona before making the jump to the Liverpool U20 team in 2015. He spent some time with the under 20s before cracking the under 23 team this year and though he showed well there he was unable to crack the Liverpool first team. Adding him to the stable of young academy talent is yet another great move that has been made this offseason.

Capable of playing as a striker or on the wing he’s a player who will immediately add to the bench depth that Waibel and Co have been working to build this offseason. Lennon joined RSL in AZ, with permission to train from Liverpool, and many thought this was a clear sign that the young attacking player would be joining the team shortly thereafter. While it is not official, based on Stejskal’s report we could hear very soon that the deal has been done.
