Real Salt Lake has made official the signings of their two 2017 MLS Draft picks, Reagan Dunk and Justin Schmidt.
Dunk was selected in the first round — 13th overall — and Schmidt was selected in the second — 35th overall.
In a club-issued release, RSL general manager Craig Waibel said the signings were the culmination of extended scouting.
"Our scouting of Reagan and Justin goes back quite a bit and we made no bones about it that they were the two players we targeted going into the draft. Neither one of them has disappointed and ultimately they both deserve this opportunity," Real Salt Lake General Manager Craig Waibel said.
Schmidt worked with Waibel for a short period while at Washington, but both players have been targets for the club for a time. Dunk played with defensively surprising Denver, helping to solidify a backline that had previously leaked goals.
