Even thought Real Salt Lake lost 2-0 on a chilly Saturday afternoon to the newly revamped Chicago Fire, Kyle Beckerman showed us he could still control the game.
With a passing rate of 77%, 61 total passes, and a team possession rate of 58%, Kyle was a key contributor to that those statistics and that's what made him my Man of the Match.
His work rate was high and he was winning the ball wherever he could and working the mid-field with Albert Rusnak, Sunny, and Luke Mulholland in their respective space, of course. He was showing small glimpses of hope where he could, even though it was not the result the Real Salt Lake faithful were hoping for.
As Week 2 comes to a close, one thing we can look forward to and take from today’s match is Kyle’s presence and leadership that can hopefully find the first goal and win of the season. Once they get their groove going, we can all be glad to see Kyle behind the team, regardless of ties, losses, and leg-locks that may stand in their way.
