Brooks Lennon just made things that much more difficult for Jeff Cassar and the coaching staff. The 19-year-old on loan from Liverpool showed us exactly why Liverpool thought so highly of him.
After having practiced with RSL for a total of a week or so, Lennon started for Real Salt Lake for the first time against the L.A. Galaxy, always a difficult opponent. He looked as comfortable and confident as could be creating chances for himself and his teammates on a regular basis.
He had a couple good looks that excited the crowd and energized the stadium. He was a huge part of RSL’s domination in the first half until the red card incident. And how many times did RSL find him up the right side? He is great at finding space and shaking off his defender.
Now we’ll have to see if he earned another start and just how much he can continue to challenge for minutes with Plata and Allen injured. If he can continue performances like that, it will be hard to keep him off the field.
