It appears as though Chad Barrett will miss the rest of the 2017 season — or, at least, most of it.
Barrett tweeted today that he will undergo surgery for the same injury that kept him out of last week’s 0-0 draw with the Red Bulls.
No easy way to say or take this. My injury is requiring surgery and I will miss most this season. I'm gutted but I know the boys will make..

Playoffs and allow me to don the Cobalt again before this season is over.

Barrett has played 68 minutes this season and came off the bench in each of the first three games of the season, solidifying himself as the go-to backup for striker Yura Movsisyan.
This only adds to RSL’s injury woes, as interim coach Daryl Shore will have to look further into the squad’s depth to find a quality replacement.
Details on the surgery and an exact timeline for Barrett’s recovery are unclear at this time, but we’ll update this story as we find out more information.
