When discussing Real Salt Lake’s search for a new coach, one name that we’ve neglected to mention too extensively is Daryl Shore.
In an interview on ESPN 700 today, Shore said he wanted to coach Real Salt Lake, and that he was focused on “what (he) can control.”
“I do plan on sitting down with them at some point in the near future,” Shore said. “I can only control what I can control, and I’d like to think that actions speak louder than words.
“Our whole group responded awesome to what we had to deal with last week. I’d be honored to coach this group, and moving forward, if I’m selected to do that, I’ll just keep doing what I know how to do, I’ll work hard.”
The biggest quote from Shore came near the end of the interview.
“It’s my job to do what I’m asked of,” he said. “I’d love the opportunity to lead this organization leading forward.”
Now, we haven’t had any inside information about Shore, so don’t think too much about whether we know something you don’t. We definitely don’t. But it’s something worth thinking about.
