Sporting KC vs. RSL: Bofo Saucedo, Man of the Match

In a disappointing match, Saucedo stood out.

It’s not very often that a guy that comes off the bench and plays for a mere 20 minutes earns the man of the match award. But in this case, Sebastian Saucedo earned it.

RSL was flat for most of the match with not much happening in the way of cohesive play or scoring chances. There were some positive things happening individually with Albert Rusnak and a couple others at times, but nothing to get you too excited.

Bofo Saucedo subbed on around the 70th minute and in next to no time put up three shots, one of which was on goal. He injected some life into the team when it needed it, even if it may have been a bit late to make much of a comeback on the road. He seemed to ignore the feel of the match and went in with energy and enthusiasm.

Saucedo got the ball into some dangerous areas and gave those of us watching the match a couple of reasons to get excited. That’s more than we can say for the other 70 minutes.
