Player Ratings: RSL 0-1 Orlando City

New, 2 comments

It was an average to below average showing for RSL.

MLS: Orlando City SC at Real Salt Lake Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 5 Rimando made three saves and one goal got past him. There was a lot happening that led up to the goal and it wasn’t really his fault.

Danilo Acosta - 6 Acosta was a bright spot on the field for RSL. He played with confidence and was able to get the best of his opposition.

David Horst - 6 Horst had a great game for not having played MLS minutes for a few months. He was aggressive and didn’t shy away from anything.

Justen Glad - 6 Glad was once again pretty solid, but it wasn’t quite his best game either. It’s pretty easy to forgive him given RSL’s defensive form before his return.

Chris Wingert - 5 Wingert was pretty decent on defense, but his passing wasn’t quite there.

Kyle Beckerman - 6 Beckerman got RSL forward as much as anyone and was making some really clean passes from distance. The highlight of the game was his retribution push on Cristian Higuita.

Sunny - 6.5 Sunny looked really bright in the first half but slowed down just a bit as time went on. Overall, he played with desire and it was clear he was fighting for a result.

Jefferson Savarino - 5 Savarino seemed to be lacking that final touch to make the goal or assist happen. He didn’t play with nearly the same edge he had against Minnesota.

Brooks Lennon - 4 This was a spotty game for Lennon. He had a couple of great individual plays where he embarrassed defenders and got forward well. On the other hand, he had two great looks in the box that he just whiffed and both times was called for a hand ball. He was also offsides. A lot. And they were all legit calls. Worst of all, he didn’t track Will Johnson when he ran in to score the game-winner.

Joao Plata - 4.5 Plata pulled the trigger at odd times. It seemed like he waited too long when the space was there and shot too quick when the angle was cut off.

Luis Silva - 4 Silva wasn’t connecting quite as well as we were seeing over the past few games in which he got the start. He had one or two looks that he squandered after holding the ball too long as well.

Substitutions

Yura Movsisyan - 4 Yura tried to energize the crowd but didn’t actually do much on the field to organically bring energy to the game.

Albert Rusnak - N/A

Bofo Saucedo - N/A
