Real Salt Lake’s search for a goalkeeping coach appears to be over, with Todd Hoffard the name released by his former employer, Lebanon Valley College.

Hoffard was goalkeeping coach for New York Red Bulls in 2011 and 2012 under Mike Petke, and his resume includes acting as a goalkeeper coach for U.S. Women youth soccer teams (U-20 and U-14) in addition to the head coaching gig at Lebanon Valley Women’s Soccer.

Never playing in MLS, Hoffard’s playing career coincided with his coaching career, according to the Lebanon Valley College release. That has him playing indoor and outdoor soccer at Harrisburg Heat, Albany Alleycats, Philadelphia Kixx, Cleveland Crunch, and Charleston Battery, all of whom have fantastic names.

His professional career predated MLS, as he was drafted in 1994 by indoor professional side Harrisburg Heat in the then-NPSL.

Hoffard’s coaching career has largely spanned the collegiate game for both men’s and women’s teams.
