Justen Glad and Brooks Lennon are Real Salt Lake’s two representatives in this year’s MLS Homegrown Game pitting a side of young homegrown players against Chivas’s U-20 side.

Only players aged 22 and younger were eligible for selection Lalo Fernandez and Ricardo Velazco, both 24, were ineligible from RSL’s homegrown set. Jose Hernandez and Sebastian Saucedo were both eligible for selection but were not selected. Jordan Allen, 22, is unavailable through a season-ending injury.

In a Real Salt Lake-issued release, general manager Craig Waibel said the players’ naming confirms the club’s focus on youth development.

"We are extremely proud of Brooks and Justen and the work they have put in to get recognized in the Homegrown Game," he said. "Our youth development is a point of pride in the organization and to continue to have players earn spots in games like this is confirmation in that emphasis."
