Luis Silva scores opener against Manchester United

If you had to name a likely scorer, Silva wasn’t it. We’re still enthralled.

If you told me today that Luis Silva would score for Real Salt Lake in the next few weeks, I would have been excited but perhaps not too surprised. If you told me he would score tonight, against Manchester United, I would have been surprised. Shocked. amazed.

And that’s what happened, and it’s probably one of the best goals you’ll ever see him score. Deftly chipping Manchester United goalkeeper Andreas Pereira, perfectly capturing a pass from Jefferson Savarino to do so.

You really should just watch it.

See? That’s good stuff, Luis Silva. It’s not every day you get to play a Premier League side, and you really made it count.

Of course, he wasn’t the only player doing good work there. Silva’s goal was good, but he was joined by Joao Plata, Albert Rusnak and Savarino in creating high-quality opportunities.

Manchester United recovered the draw a few minutes later, but let’s not focus on that too much. It’s a lot less fun.
