For the first time since 2008, no Real Salt Lake player has been selected for the MLS All-Star Game.
That’s good for us.
I know, I know — the representation is nice and probably important in soem ways. And we’ve had a player involved every year since 2009, with Kyle Beckerman and Nick Rimando being near-constants.
But right now, can we really afford to let loose a few players for a meaningless game against an opponent that likely stole Real Salt Lake’s historic name? I think not.
The MLS All-Star Game takes place on Aug. 2 in Chicago against Real Madrid.
