Player Ratings: Portland 1-4 RSL

A road win on turf will get you some high ratings.

MLS: Real Salt Lake at Portland Timbers Jaime Valdez-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 6 Rimando had a highlight save or two, but probably should have been on his toes the last minute of the game to preserve the shutout.

Demar Phillips - 6 Before Demar went off due to injury he was having a crisp performance. He looked as confident as ever.

David Horst - 7 Horst had the assignment of containing Adi and if he was in school he’d get an ‘A’. Adi is one of the better, stronger strikers in MLS and Horst won the battle in Portland.

Justen Glad - 6 Glad was very good on the night, cleaning up some balls that found their way through to the final third for Portland.

Tony Beltran - 6 Beltran picked up an assist on the Becker Bomb, and he nearly had his first MLS goal during the final minutes of the game.

Kyle Beckerman - 6.5 Beckerman was in the zone until he was shown a red card on what looked like nothing much at all. His goal may very well have been the best of his career. The placement and the power were both top shelf.

Stephen Sunny - 8 Sunny has been one of RSL’s best for the past few games and he didn’t let his foot off the pedal in Portland. He had over 98% passing accuracy with only one misplaced pass. One.

Albert Rusnak - 8 A very tidy game from Rusnak once again. He created a lot of good looks for RSL and was justly awarded with the goal that hit the crossbar and ended up in the net after a deflection.

Jefferson Savarino - 6.5 Savarino didn’t have quite the showing we have gotten accustomed to, but he had a pretty good game overall. He was good in passing but wasn’t able to finish some looks.

Luis Silva - 6 6 Silva once again played to his strengths of connecting with his teammates up top, but probably should have been a little bit more selfish a time or two when he had the space.

Joao Plata - 8 Plata really enjoyed himself and was smiling all over the field. After Sunny, he had the second highest passing accuracy at about 89%. And he had two goals. No big deal.

Danilo Acosta - 6.5 Acosta played the second half after Phillips had to leave the game and he showed some good stuff both out wide and centrally. His ball through the middle to set up Plata’s second goal was superb.
