Portland vs. RSL: Joao Plata, Man of the Match

Joao Plata has returned to form of late, and he made a big splash against Portland on the road. Plata scored two of RSL’s four goals, one of which was a penalty kick and the other was off of great service from Danilo Acosta.

Two goals speak for themselves. However, Plata put in a full shift on defense as well. He was all over the field, really. He was able to slow Portland down and was extremely fast in transition.

Many of RSL’s scoring chances came from Plata’s work. If his return to form stays, we will be in a very good placed as evidenced by the Portland match.
