Player Ratings: D.C. United 0-1 RSL

A shutout and a win on the road? That’ll work.

MLS: Real Salt Lake at D.C. United Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 6 Rimando was in the right spot all night long and punched the ball away as many times as we’ve ever seen in one game.

Chris Wingert - 5 Wingert made some smart plays, but was also unable to provide the service he would have liked.

Marcelo Silva - 6 Silva had another good if not great showing. He has a great presence in the back and did a lot of the right things to preserve a shutout.

Justen Glad - 6 Glad showed some surprising speed against D.C. and was great once again in recovery. He is a very intelligent player and earned the clean sheet.

Tony Beltran - 5.5 Beltran was getting beat on his side for the first 30 minutes of the game, but then had a much better night when the game resumed a day later.

Kyle Beckerman - 7 The captain had some fantastic passing and was consistently playing with urgency. He rallied the team to a win, no doubt.

Stephen Sunny - 6 Sunny didn’t back down in his physical play. He did just enough to fluster the opposition but keep the play fair and clean.

Albert Rusnak - 6 Rusnak had some good play on the ball, but should have done better to get the insurance goal on a perfect setup from Beckerman. He did have two shots on goal though, which RSL needs these days.

Jefferson Savarino - 6 Savarino had a pretty decent showing and was unlucky not to score a goal with Arriola getting him from behind.

Luis Silva - 7 Silva’s half volley finish was a thing of beauty and sort of came out of nowhere. He wasn’t as good in combination play as we’ve gotten accustomed to, but he was effective nonetheless.

Joao Plata - 5 Plata was pretty well taken out of the game as was United’s plan. He had a couple half looks, but nothing to make the highlight reel.

Substitutions

Yura Movsisyan - 5.5 Yura didn’t put in the effort one would expect in his situation, but he was doing some decent things in trying to set up his teammates.

Brooks Lennon - 6 Lennon came on with energy and nearly picked up an assist. He is good at making his limited minutes as effective as possible.

Luke Mulholland - N/A
