For all the complaints about Luis Silva’s inability to put his chances away, he has been scoring a lot lately. Against Montreal, he got about as close as a player can get to scoring a hat trick but only came away with one goal. The goal he scored was a stunner from a tough angle to level the match early on. He had three other great looks that, frankly, Evan Bush barely prevented. The post has proven unfriendly to Silva a few times, and it wasn’t different in Montreal.
There are two sides to the coin. One side says Silva should have scored more. The other side says he scored a great goal and created some other great scoring chances that didn’t go in by a hair.
At the end of the day, Silva is getting better where we needed him to get better and he’s doing a lot of other great things to facilitate scoring chances for those around him.
