Player Ratings: RSL 4-1 Colorado

The rivalry game brought out the best in many.

MLS: Colorado Rapids at Real Salt Lake Chris Nicoll-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 6 Rimando made three saves to preserve RSL’s hold on the game. One goal got in that he nearly saved, but it was a well-taken header.

Danilo Acosta - 5 Acosta was having a nice game for himself until he committed the foul from behind that ended up being his last one for the game because of the red card he earned. It was probably unnecessary, but he’ll learn from it.

David Horst - 6 Horst played tough and has stepped up in Silva’s absence to help RSL in a big way.

Justen Glad - 8 Glad was great on the night. He repeatedly won the ball for RSL and made some great stops when things were getting scary. He was composed and confident all night long.

Tony Beltran - 5.5 Beltran had a good game but was in the mix on a couple Colorado chances.

Stephen Sunny - 7.5 Sunny took the opportunity to fill in for Beckerman seriously and had one of his best games in a RSL uniform. He was very sharp and broke up a ton of the Rapid’s attacking plays.

Luke Mulholland - 6 There were a couple times the crowd yelled “Luke”, and deservedly so. Luke was pretty decent on offense and great on defense.

Albert Rusnak - 6.5 Another game, another assist for Rusnak who is now third in MLS in the category.

Jefferson Savarino - 6 Savarino had a couple half chances to score and earned the penalty for RSL to give them their insurance goal.

Luis Silva - 7.5 Silva got the best of one of the best keepers in the world on his penalty shot and then made a smart play to seal the game on his second goal. Nobody is complaining about Silva not scoring goals now. He now has six goals in seven games in MLS play and another goal against some club named Manchester United.

Joao Plata - 7 Plata scored the first RSL goal when Colorado was playing back and very compact. He broke them down and opened the game up.

Chris Wingert - 5.5 Wingert came on right after RSL went down a man and provided some stability and veteran leadership.

Brooks Lennon - 7 Lennon only had 17 minutes on the field but had a great ball to Silva to give RSL their third goal and then closed the game with his second goal in MLS and the Rapids.

Sebastian Saucedo - N/A It’s hard to give a rating for one minute of play, but he did get a nice assist to Lennon.
