Player Ratings: RSL 2-1 Portland

RSL fought hard, got three points at the RioT.

MLS: Portland Timbers at Real Salt Lake Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 6.5 Rimando had two big saves, and both of them were timely and challenging.

Danilo Acosta - 5 Acosta had some good moments, but also had some shaky moments giving the ball away.

Marcelo Silva - 6.5 Silva was incredible in the air and put in a nice shift in his return game.

Justen Glad - 5.5 Glad was very good for much of the match, but had some slip-ups losing markings that could have cost RSL.

Tony Beltran - 6 Beltran was top notch on defense as per usual, but he was also good when he was playing high and getting in the attack.

Kyle Beckerman - 6 Beckerman was where he needed to be to break up some Portland counters that could have turned the game sour for RSL.

Luke Mulholland - 6 Luke put in the full 90 minutes and was invaluable in his defending. Some of his passes were suspect however.

Albert Rusnak - 8 Rusnak’s first half was as good as we have seen from him. Calm and effective. He had a screamer to put RSL on the board and then helped put Savarino on the board.

Jefferson Savarino - 7.5 Savarino was an entertainer in this one. He was pulling some moves that kept possession for RSL and left the crowd oohing over what they saw. And his go-ahead goal was a left-footed rocket to the far corner.

Luis Silva - 5 Silva had a good scoring chance that he should have done more with to put it past Attinella. But he did facilitate for his teammates until he came off with a knock.

Joao Plata - 5.5 Plata was having a tough time of it. He had eight shots, only one of which was on goal. He set up some scoring chances for RSL. But, his best chance in isolation was squandered.

Substitutions

Yura Movsisyan - 6 Yura gave the ball away cheaply a few times, but he did a god job setting up others.
