Player Ratings: RSL 2-0 Seattle

The home team had a nervy first half, but asserted themselves in the second.

MLS: Seattle Sounders FC at Real Salt Lake Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 7 Seattle tested Rimando and he was up to the task every time. He made four saves against the Sounders and his reactions were really fun to watch. As Petke said of Rimando, “age is just a number.”

Danilo Acosta - 6 Acosta played well and seemed to have his full confidence. He had a couple giveaways, but got better as the game went on.

Marcelo Silva - 6 Silva’s partnership with Glad is getting stronger with every game. Silva was able to show off his explosive recovery speed and silenced the Sounders’ attack a few times.

Justen Glad - 6.5 Glad prevented disaster early in the game when Will Bruin seemed to have an open look at the goal. He also read the opposition’s build up play very well and was in the right spots all night.

Tony Beltran - 6.5 Beltran was in control on his side of the field. He played a great game and the Sounders couldn’t get much of anything through him.

Kyle Beckerman - 6 Beckerman was there to calm things down in the midfield in a tough battle with the opposition’s quality. He steadied the ship more than a couple times.

Luke Mulholland - 7 Luke worked as hard as anyone on the field and was justly rewarded with a goal and a subsequent celebration that brought perhaps just as much happiness to the crowd as did the goal.

Albert Rusnak - 6.5 Rusnak was able to get off six shots, but only one was on frame. That said, he was distributing the ball well and gave the Seattle defense a lot to worry about. He picked up his sixth assist in six games. Not too bad.

Jefferson Savarino - 7.5 Savarino notched a goal and an assist to propel RSL to fifth in the West. His acclimation to MLS seems to have reached its peak. He looks very comfortable and confident.

Brooks Lennon - 4.5 Lennon couldn’t get much going up top. He was unable to get a shot off, but he put in the work on the defensive side of the ball.

Joao Plata - 4.5 Plata didn’t have a shot either. That is unusual for him. He did, however, demand attention freeing up others.
