Player Ratings: Sporting KC 1-1 RSL

Nick Rimando led the team on the road.

MLS: Real Salt Lake at Sporting KC Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 8.5 Rimando was busy in Kansas City. He ended the game with six saves and two punches and a lot of other savvy veteran plays that helped RSL earn a point on the road against a very good team.

Aaron Herrera - 6 Herrera was solid and stayed home to be in good positions. Not his best game in a RSL uniform, but pretty decent.

Nick Besler - 6.5 Besides one play towards the end of the game in which he temporarily lost focus, he helped RSL keep KC from having too many chances. He showed well in the land where he grew up.

Justen Glad - 6 Glad helped anchor the defense and made some well-timed tackles that helped frustrate Sporting KC just a bit.

Brooks Lennon - 7 Lennon was good. Really good. He had his side locked down and played like a wise veteran.

Sunny - 5.5 Sunny put in a tough shift, but was not able to possess the ball like he usually does.

Kyle Beckerman - 6 We got from Beckerman what we always expect. He gave 100% for the full 90 minutes. He was one of the few midfielders whose passes were not consistently eaten up by KC.

Joao Plata - 5 Plata had a pretty quiet game getting off two shots over the course of 90 minutes.

Corey Baird - 7 Corey was a crossbar away from being the hero of the game. His goal was quality and he used his speedy runs to his advantage.

Jefferson Savarino - 6.5 Savarino lost the ball much more than he normally does, but when he got into the final third he typically found the right man as evidenced by Baird’s chances.

Damir Kreilach - 5 Kreilach did not accomplish much in this game. He seemed out of position and not very involved.

Albert Rusnak - 5 Rusnak came into the game when RSL was starting to lean towards preserving a point. He got in the mix on defense, but was unable to drive the offense.
