The National Women’s Soccer League announced its list for the 2018 Re-Entry Wire as part of the End of Season Process.
Clubs placed players on the Re-entry Wire whose option was not exercised, no new contract was offered or contract expired, following the conclusion of the season. A player is now available to all other clubs. Since 1 PM ET today, all NWSL teams have seen the list of available players. Teams now have until Tuesday, October 2 at 1 PM ET to make submissions for players available. Results will be announced at 3 PM ET tomorrow as well.
Three Utah Royals FC players, who were a part of the 2018 roster, have been placed on the list. The club declined options for the following players:
- Alex Arlitt
- Katrina Gorry
- Elise Thorsnes
Additionally, GK Abby Smith, DF Samantha Johnson, DF Sydney Miramontez, MF Mandy Laddish and FW Brittany Ratcliffe were offered new contracts. The club exercised options for GK Nicole Barnhart, DF Rachel Corsie, DF Becca Moros, MF Gunny Jónsdóttir, MF Katie Bowen, MF Lo’eau LaBonta, MF Makenzy Doniak, FW Taylor Lytle, FW Katie Stengel and FW Erika Tymrak.
U.S National Team members DF Becky Sauerbrunn, DF/FW Kelley O’Hara, FW Christen Press and FW Amy Rodriguez and Canadian National players MF Desiree Scott and MF Diana Matheson will remain on the current roster. All players are currently allocated by their federations. The list of allocated players will be finalized at a later date in 2019.
