Player Ratings: Portland 3-0 RSL

It wasn’t meant to be against Portland.

MLS: Real Salt Lake at Portland Timbers Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

Nick Rimando - 5 Rimando had five saves in Portland. He made one in the second half that was pretty impressive, but couldn’t keep three goals out of the net.

Aaron Herrera - 6 Herrera was a bright spot on the field for RSL on the defensive side of the ball. Timely tackles and smart play from the kid.

Marcelo Silva - 4.5 Silva’s marking on Mabiala in the 15th minute was not up to snuff. He simply got beat to the ball.

Justen Glad - 5.5 Glad gave the Portland attackers a little bit too much space on a few occasions and they took full advantage. His point blank shot was unbelievably saved, but it was a good attempt.

Brooks Lennon - 5.5 Lennon had his hands full on his side but held up decently well. Not an outstanding night for him, but he got forward and involved quite a bit.

Albert Rusnak - 5 Rusnak had a shot on goal and a good pass or two that set up others, but otherwise Portland was pretty successful in taking him out of the game.

Kyle Beckerman - 6 Beckerman played determined if not angry. He went down swinging in this one. He was unlucky not to have a goal on his header off the set piece.

Joao Plata - 4.5 Plata had a couple shots, but neither was close to going in.

Sunny - 5 Sunny won the ball in some incredibly disadvantaged spots, but did not seem so comfortable on turf.

Jefferson Savarino - 5.5 Savarino did what he could to create some chances, but never really got in a rhythm.

Damir Kreilach - 5 It’s not that the effort wasn’t there for Kreilach. It was. He just had kind of a quiet game playing up front.

Corey Baird - 5.5 Baird was able to help RSL push forward when the desperately needed to score. Even though the goal never came, Baird put in a hard fought 18 minutes.
