Real Monarchs to exercise 2019 options on seven players

Active roster now stands at ten players for 2019

In a press release early this morning the Real Monarchs announced that they would pick up 2019 contract options for seven members of their 2018 roster. Defenders Kalen Ryden, Konrad Plewa, James Moberg and Andrew Brody will return along with midfielders Justin Portillo, Maikel Chang and Josh Heard.

In addition, the Monarchs announced that they have permanently acquired Jack Blake who played with the Monarchs on loan from the Tampa Bay Rowdies during the 2018 season.

The Monarchs declined to pick up 2019 options for goalkeeper Jake Leeker; defenders Rhys Williams and David Diosa; and midfielders Charlie Adams and Sebastian Velasquez.

Forward Jamal Charles, who played briefly on loan from CDS Vida in Honduras will return to that team as his option was also not picked up.

Forwards Chandler Hoffman and Juan Mare from the 2018 roster were both out of contract and have signed to play for Birmingham Legion FC and Chattanooga Red Wolves of USL League One respectively.

Midfielder Masta Kacher and defender Stanley Okumu also had existing contracts covering 2019 which leaves the Monarchs 2019 roster at ten:
