In what’s a now-regular dropping of rumors on Twitter, Real Salt Lake has been linked with Argentine striker Germán Cano, a striker who has spent his career hopping around South and Central America.
Here’s the tweet that sparked it all:

Cano, who is contracted to Mexican outfit Leon but last on loan to Colombian first division side Independiente Medellin, has scored 50 goals in 84 matches across two tenures with the team.
That’s a better clip he’s shown through his career, but he has been a fairly consistent goalscorer through his career.
There appears to be smoke on this one, but there also remains a chance that this is simply a negotiation tactic from Cano and his agent. A move for Cano, in the current MLS climate, would likely be a spendy one for RSL — and while he may well be a good signing, were it to come to fruition, it would require an investment from RSL owner Dell Loy Hansen.
We’ll keep our ear to the ground on this one.
