Nick Rimando - 4 Five saves are not worth very much when the ball finds the back of the net five times. Building out of the back just wasn’t working against LAFC.
Demar Phillips - 2.5 Demar stepped into the goal early in the game to prevent a goal, but after that, things went downhill pretty fast. He got beat over and over again on his side. He was directly in the line of fire on at least three of LA’s goals. Like he said in his post-game interview, “this is a wake up call.”
David Horst - 3.5 Horst had some okay moments using his head, but just like pretty much everyone else, was having a rough day.
Justen Glad - 4.5 Glad did not look like himself for much of the game. We are not used to him getting beat like that. Hopefully he learns and moves on.
Shawn Barry - 4 Barry got his second start in MLS and it did not go as well as his first game. His passing was lacking for most of the game and he was unable to get the ball out of his end all too often.
Kyle Beckerman - 4.5 Beckerman made some smart fouls and won the ball a few times, but for some reason he seemed to lack energy for most of the match.
Damir Kreilach - 5 Kreilach had some good moments in which he controlled the ball quickly for RSL, but seemed as lost as anyone after a while.
Albert Rusnak - 4.5 Rusnak had some decent ideas early, but ran out of them pretty early as well. LA had a pretty easy time keeping his passes from reaching their target.
Jefferson Savarino - 3.5 Savarino had a couple shots on goal, but gave the ball away a lot. His passes were missing any sort of sharpness and his decisions on where to pass were mind-boggling at times.
Luis Silva - 4 Silva struggled to connect his passes like most of the rest, He could not get into any sort of rhythm and was eventually subbed off.
Joao Plata - 5.5 Plata got RSL’s only goal off of a saved PK. He had three shots, two of which were on goal. He did a few things well which is more than we can say for most of the rest of the players.
Substitutions
Brooks Lennon - 5.5 Lennon came on for about a half hour and played with energy and fight which up to that point were hard to find for RSL.
Alredo Ortuño - 5 The Spaniard made his debut for RSL in less than ideal circumstances. He saw the field for just over 20 minutes, but nobody could get him the ball.
Bofo Saucedo - N/A
