Albert Rusnák receives call up to Slovakian national team

The RSL attacking midfielder will join his national team later this month for two games in Thailand

MLS: Real Salt Lake at Los Angeles Galaxy Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

Real Salt Lake midfielder Albert Rusnak has been called in to his national team for two matches on March 22nd and 25th.

The Slovakian national team will play in the 2018 King’s Cup in Thailand. They will play United Arab Emirates on the 22nd then either Gabon or Thailand on the 25th, depending on results. The Kings Cup is an annual international cup tournament hosted and organized by Thailand. Founded in 1968, the tournament features four teams. Thailand is always one of the four teams featured.

Albert Rusnak has 8 caps for his national team, 1 start, and no goals. The 23 year old joined the Manchester City academy in 2010 before signing with FC Groningen in 2015. He was signed as a young designated player for Real Salt Lake in 2017 and within his first year he captured the club golden boot, MVP, and all of our hearts.

This is a great opportunity for the young player to make an impression with his national team. He played with the Slovakian youth system and seems to be making a stronger case for his inclusion on the senior team. RSL noted that these international dates will not cause him to miss any RSL matches.
