For the third year in a row, Real Salt Lake will host a European club in the summer. This time, it’s Eintracht Frankfurt, who currently sit in fourth place in the Bundesliga.
Real Salt Lake hosted Inter Milan in 2016 and Manchester United in 2017.
The match will take place on July 10, and Eintracht Frankfurt will train at Zions Bank Training Center during a week-long stay.
In an RSL-issued press release, general manager Craig Waibel spoke to the club’s new training center as a factor.
“We are excited to give our fans the opportunity to see a top-end German club at Rio Tinto Stadium and to give another club the chance to train at the Zions Bank Training Center – we take a lot of pride in that building and all its amenities,” RSL General Manager Craig Waibel said. “It will also be a great experience for our players to face an opponent with that sort of pedigree and we look forward to it.”
Certainly, the new training center has been built with hosting top-tier sides in mind.
