Real Salt Lake surely would not have left Frisco with even a point if it were not for the absolute heroics of the legend, Nick Rimando. The first twenty minutes were tough on the RSL backline, and Nick had to work far harder than he should have been required to. Nonetheless, he got the job done, proving that even at the beginning of the season, the best still have mid-season form.
He nabbed a total of five saves alone in the first half, including this absolute stunner of a save in the 38th minute, worthy enough of even grabbing the attention of the opponents social media team.

Nick would add to this incredible save with several others in the second half, singlehandedly maintaining that RSL would get at least a point.
Other Contenders
Justen Glad had an incredible game making several very important slide tackles, and ultimately blocking shots that Rimando may not have been able to get to.
Joao Plata scored an incredible goal off the counterattack.
Damir Krielach had an incredible debut, albeit with several mistakes, but he proved that he was worthy of the start, despite only knowing our system for two weeks.
Shawn Barry also had a very good game, proving that he was much more capable than illustrated in the two games of pre-season that were streamed.
