Nick Rimando - 5 Given Colorado’s approach to the game, Rimando did not have to make even one save. He was committed to building out of the back and did well with that, but it was a pretty uneventful night for him.
Danilo Acosta - 5.5 Acosta only played the first half, but he had a decent showing in his first start of 2018. He got into the attack and was involved where he needed to be.
Nick Besler - 6 Besler got his first MLS start and I think if many of us were being honest, we would have admitted we were slightly nervous about it. Besler took full advantage of the opportunity and had a tidy game. He came up with some big plays and was up for the task all night long.
Justen Glad - 5.5 Glad’s passing was not quite yet where it needs to be, but he was there when called upon the few times that Colorado pushed forward.
Brooks Lennon - 6.5 At some point we have to wonder if Lennon is now a lock at the right back spot. He continues to do very well for himself on defense even though that is not his preferred position. He was also involved on offense and tested MacMath a couple times.
Kyle Beckerman - 6 Beckerman held the fort down and pushed RSL to go forward and find scoring chances. He showed some creativity and was very close to scoring.
Damir Kreilach - 6.5 Kreilach is still getting his feet under him in MLS, but he had a pretty good game overall. His goal was a nice piece of skill, let’s hope that gives him more confidence to push forward more often.
Albert Rusnak - 7.5 Rusnak had a look in his eyes this game. He was not about to allow RSL to tie a game in which they were up a man. His vision was fun to watch and it paid off on his assist to Kreilach. But his free kick goal? That was some top notch stuff. I’m still not sure how it went in.
Jefferson Savarino - 5.5 Savarino seemed to not gain momentum in this game. He had some decent looks but couldn’t convert.
Luis Silva - 5 Silva put in a lot of work in 69 minutes, but did not have much in the way of scoring chances.
Joao Plata - 7 It was nice to have Plata back in the RSL attack. He was threatening for most of the night and ended with seven shots, three shots on goal, and a goal on the PK call to put RSL ahead.
Substitutions
Pablo Ruiz - 6 Pablo came on at the half for Acosta and added some energy and creativity to the attack. He also impressed with his effort to win the ball back immediately after it was lost.
Corey Baird - 5.5 Baird did not see a lot of time, but he brings a work rate and a winning mentality every time he is on the field.
